Private Engagement
Hard cases deserve a lawyer who stays.
Private Engagement is for serious injury and malpractice cases that most firms won't take on. You fund the work up front, I commit to your case all the way through trial unless it settles first, and every dollar is credited against my fee if we win.
Start my engagementThe problem
Most firms won't take these cases — or won't stay in them.
Medical malpractice, legal malpractice, institutional abuse, and catastrophic injury cases are expensive, slow, and fought hard by well-funded defendants. Many firms turn them down at intake. Others take them and drop them when the defense digs in, the costs climb, or a quick settlement isn't coming. You're left starting over — with less time, less evidence, and a case that's harder to win.
- Medical malpractice
Surgical errors, misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, birth injuries, anesthesia failures.
- Legal malpractice
Your prior attorney missed a deadline, gave bad advice, or failed to investigate — and it cost you.
- Institutional abuse
Abuse by a church, school, youth organization, care facility, or employer with resources to fight back.
- Catastrophic injury
Traumatic brain injury, spinal cord damage, severe burns, or permanent disability from someone else's negligence.
How it works
Funded. Committed. Credited.
You fund the work
A $10,000 Private Engagement fee, paid in three installments: $3,334 at signing, $3,333 at 30 days, and $3,333 at 60 days. Each installment is earned at a milestone: engagement and case evaluation; claim or complaint filed; discovery underway. Case costs are handled as set out in your written engagement agreement.
I commit through trial
Your engagement fee covers my work all the way through trial unless the case settles first, on terms you approve.
Every dollar is credited
If we recover, the full $10,000 is credited against my one-third contingency fee. If there is no recovery, you owe no additional attorney fee. If the engagement ends before a milestone is reached, any unearned installment is refunded.
Why Frank
A trial lawyer who stays in the fight.
Frank Stucki has spent his career on the cases other lawyers avoid. He's licensed in Nevada, Washington, and Utah, and handles cases in other states with local co-counsel. He doesn't manage a large firm — he manages your case.
Private Engagement exists because the best outcomes in hard cases come from a lawyer who is fully invested, fully informed, and fully committed — not one who is waiting to see if the case gets easier.
